Thank you to all residents who provided input and participated in today’s Capital Improvement Workshop. Your voices are invaluable as we set in motion a plan to guide future improvements for Village of The Hills.
It is a great honor to help steward the resources entrusted to us by our residents. Every dollar we spend represents the hard work of individuals and families who’ve chosen to invest their lives in this community. That’s why we approach each decision with care and scrutiny—ensuring that we maintain what we’ve built while planning for a future that prioritizes health, safety, and long-term financial stability. Your feedback and engagement are central to this process, and we’re grateful for your contributions.
With that shared mindset amongst the council, three key takeaways emerged from today’s discussions. Council continues to recognize our park spaces as one of our community’s greatest assets, and we understand that any development surrounding The Hills will have a meaningful impact. Residents should feel confident that your best interests remain our top priority.
Top items of discussion for the 5-Year Plan:
Lohmans Crossing & Wingreen Loop Intersection: Continued collaboration with the City of Lakeway, The Square at Lohmans developers, and The Hills POA to improve traffic flow and enhance safety at this critical intersection.
Lohmans Crossing Entry & Wall Enhancements: The City seeks to engage alongside the POA in future aesthetic improvements related to traffic modifications, with a focus on pedestrian safety, increased property values, and upholding high community standards.
Park Improvements: Ongoing review of the Park Master Plan will be combined with exploration of long-term priorities alongside the Parks & Recreation Commission to preserve and enhance our green spaces for generations to come. Key concepts included weatherizing restrooms and researching additional all-age recreational amenities.
City staff and Council remain committed to thoughtful, forward-looking planning. These ideas will continue to evolve and be discussed throughout the budgeting process in the coming months.
Thank you for your trust and contributions,
Mayor Kevin Proud
